Dallas Cowboys Mock Draft

1st - *trade back with IND, add a 2nd round pick. Select: OLB Bobby Carpenter 6'3 255 4.66 Ohio State

Bobby is a great all-around LB. He can play the run, the pass, and he can get after the QB. He is ready to play right away since he played linebacker in college.

NFL COMPARISON: Mike Vrabel

2nd - A: trade up to #40 (DET), swap our 3rd rounder for their 4th. Select: OG Davin Joseph 6'3 312 5.07 Oklahoma

Joseph is a very physical and athletic guard with experience at tackle as well. He could come in and start immediately if necessary.

B: FS Daniel Bullocks 6'1 212 4.38 Nebraska

Daniel is a good all-round safety who made play after play at the Senior Bowl. Good complement to Roy. Really made and impression at the combine by running a 4.38 40 at the combine. I pray that either him or Ko Simpson make it to this pick. If they don't, we should trade back into the 3rd, and pick up an extra late round pick and then select the best available safety. Anthony Smith, Roman Harper, and Pat Watkins would be the best options.

NFL COMPARISON: Corey Chavous

4th - WR Todd Watkins 6'2 202 4.41 BYU

Todd is a speedy guy who can really stretch the field. A possible complement to Crayton in the post-Glenn/TO era. Needs to work on his routes and he needs to put on some weight although he has done a good job of this in the last year.

NFL COMPARISON: Ashley Lelie

5th - NT Steve Fifita 5'11 315 5.25 Utah

Fifita is a great run clogging nose tackle prospect. He has everything you look for except great height. May not be starting material, but he would be a good backup to Ferguson.

6th - FB JD Runnels 5'11 238 4.65 Oklahoma

Runnels is a punishing run blocker who brings everything you want in a lead fullback except size. I believe he can overcome this and become a good starting fullback right away. He is a decent athlete who is a good receiver out of the backfield as well.

7th - P Steve Weatherford 6'3 215 4.76 Ilinois

Steve is a great punter who has averaged about 44 yards a punt throughout his career. Has a good leg strength. Kicked off and was very effective at it. Was the school's long distance field goal specialist. Made a 55-yard attempt. Good athlete. Needs to work on consistency and getting rid of the ball quicker.
