Killer Hurricane Katrina Not Done Yet

Hurricane Katrina will continue to bring more flooding and winds and once it exits Florida into the Gulf of Mexico, it might reform and regroup. This could mean Katrina, which has been charged with two deaths already may kill again. Authorities warn residents to be careful, as Hurricane Katrina is armed and dangerous indeed.

Although Katrina only barely made Hurricane status; Category I, before it hit land, it still has considerable precipitation only with it. The Satellite Radar shows much more rain on its way, which will continue to flood the region. Katrina turned slightly Southwest at the last minute fooling the weather predictions from the National Hurricane Center in Florida. An over pass near the Miami Airport has collapsed and flooding is continued to be expected due to the slow movement of the storm and over 1 million people are without power and no telling when that will be restored.

The big question, which extreme weather meteorologists are only now beginning to ask is; "What happens when Hurricane Katrina heads out into warm open water over the Gulf of Mexico?" This would not be the first time a Hurricane went across the giant sandbar we call the Great State of Florida and then reformed only to cause more serious and catastrophic damage to yet another helpless US Shoreline. This is the eleventh named storm of 2005 and we are not even half done yet? NOAA's updated Hurricane predictions for the 2005 Atlantic hurricane season is now; 13 to 16 tropical storms, with 7 to ten becoming hurricanes. Further the NOAA believes that 3 to 5 of these Hurricanes could become Category I or II Hurricane Storms.

For now we wait and watch, pray and hope, but Katrina is now a killer Hurricane and the next strike could be serious indeed.
